U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman lashed out Tuesday against an Obama administration plan to slash funds for the missile defense shield program only a day after North Korea launched the longest-range missile it has ever developed.
The Connecticut independent, who caucuses with the Democrat Party but supported Sen. John McCain over President Barack Obama during the presidential campaign, attacked the cutbacks harshly as dangerous to both the United States and the allies it would bring under a missile shield.
The Apology Tour
While President Barack Obama (D) apologizes for our "arrogance" to Europe and Turkey - the very arrogance that saved the former from Nazism and Communism and the latter from even more chaos - maybe he will credit America and his predecessor, George W BUSH. THE ONE never has anything good to say, about anything.
US AIDS program saved million African lives- study
Dr. Eran Bendavid of Stanford University School of Medicine in California, whose study appears in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine, said in a statement. Bendavid said the 10 percent decline translates to about 1.1 to 1.2 million deaths that have been prevented. PEPFAR is the largest U.S. foreign aid program devoted to a single disease and has been lauded as a bright spot of former President George W. Bush's tenure. It pays for drug treatment for people infected with HIV as well as other steps such as prevention efforts -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Al Sharpton calls for Arizona sheriff to step down
NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. civil rights activist Al Sharpton weighed into a fight over an Arizona sheriff’s immigration sweeps on Tuesday, accusing him of racially profiling Hispanics and urging him to step down.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has dispatched deputies into Hispanic communities in the Phoenix area, where they stop people and arrest anyone who cannot prove he or she is a legal U.S. resident.
Hey Sharpton, who should he target? The illegals are Hispanics.
What a total a** h***. Get a real job.

One third of births in the United States are to unmarried parents. The proportions are considerably higher among urban and minority parents. Increasingly, public attention has focused on strategies to encourage marriage, particularly among unwed parents. The research community has identified a number of socioeconomic factors that are associated with delayed marriage. Scholars have also investigated the effects of welfare and other policies on marriage.
In 2001, 1.35 million children were born outside marriage. This represents 33.5 percent of all children born in the United States in that year. Children raised by never-married mothers are seven times more likely to be poor when compared to children raised in intact married families. http://www.heritage.org/Research/Family/cda0306.cfm
