But they will not let Columbia in on a free trade agreement with the US.
Why is always Democrats that are appeasers of tyrants.
Raul or Fidel will be visiting Washington by the end of Obama's term.
What happened to the CWC?

Lawmakers' Cuba concerns are misplaced
If only the group had met with even one prisoner of conscience or one of the wives, mothers, daughters or sisters of the 75 independent journalists, librarians and human-rights advocates imprisoned in Cuba's ''Black Spring'' of 2003. They would have easily spotted the Ladies in White in Havana on Palm Sunday, walking in protest to raise awareness about their men's harsh sentences for daring to think outside the communist box of limitations. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/columnists/myriam-marquez/story/989534.html

WASHINGTON – Tinkering with Earth's climate to chill runaway global warming — a radical idea once dismissed out of hand — is being discussed by the White House as a potential emergency option, the president's new science adviser said Wednesday.
That's because global warming is happening so rapidly, John Holdren told The Associated Press in his first interview since being confirmed last month.
The concept of using technology to purposely cool the climate is called geoengineering. One option raised by Holdren and proposed by a Nobel Prize-winning scientist includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun's rays.
Using such an experimental measure is only being thought of as a last resort, Holdren said.
If this was a Repubacan it would be called a "Star Wars" idea.

WASHINGTON — A Senate chairman on Tuesday urged Attorney General Eric Holder to sue any states that aren't helping needy citizens to register to vote.
Federal laws call for state agencies to try to register people to vote when they are distributing aid, such as food stamps and unemployment benefits.
"With the new leadership at the Justice Department, we hope states will be made to meet their obligations," Senate Rules Committee Chairman Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said in a statement. "If that means taking certain states to court, so be it."
It's not clear which states, if any, are failing to comply.
Of course Chuck Schumer wants the poor to vote, because they vote Democrat.
I'm still wait for his reason for high gas prices in 2008, he has not given a honest answer.

The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets."It wasn't a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he's taller than King Abdullah," said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The Washington Times called the alleged bow a "shocking display of fealty to a foreign potentate" and said it violated centuries of American tradition of not deferring to royalty. The Weekly Standard, meanwhile, noted that American protocol apparently rules out bowing, or at least it reportedly did on the occasion of a Clinton "near-bow" to the emperor of Japan.
Interestingly, a columnist in the Saudi-backed Arabic paper Asharq Alawsat also took the gesture as a bow and appreciated the move. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S60U-hl35Gw&feature=player_embedded
