The National Rifle Association lauded Trump's rollback in a statement that day.
"Today[Feb. 28, 2017,] marks a new era for law-abiding gun owners, as we have now have a president who respects and supports our right to keep and bear arms," NRA Executive Director Chris Cox said.
In addition, the NRA said that Obama rule "would have resulted in 75,000 Social Security recipients who use a representative payee losing their Second Amendment rights without due process."
The association also noted President Trump's revocation was also supported by "the ACLU, and more than a dozen mental health advocacy organizations."And the American Association of People with Disabilities.
