DOMA

Defense of Marriage Act

Obama's DOMA shift: Why public embrace of gay marriage – and gays – is now certain

Philadelphia – The 1996 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was always an odd law. Its main provision, allowing states to refuse to recognize same-sex marriages formed in other states, had no effect: States have never been required to recognize sister-state marriages offensive to their public policy. Its secondary provision, refusing federal recognition to same-sex marriages valid under state law, did not prevent any same-sex couples from marrying.

“Imagine that Governor Palin had become president. Imagine that she had announced that Roe versus Wade in her view was unconstitutional and therefore the United States government would no longer protect anyone’s right to have an abortion because she personally had decided it should be changed. The news media would have gone crazy. The New York Times would have demanded her impeachment.” Gingrich.

Kliphnote: It's the law, like it or not.
This was signed into law by (The liberals favorite, until Obama) Bill Clinton.
Since when do you only enforce the laws you want.
Imagine the next president saying Obamacare
is unconstitutional and not enforcing it.
The liberals would soil themselves.

And just because Obama doesn't like the law doesn't mean
anyone will "embrace  gay marriage – and gays".
Who says!
And Obama NEVER said he was in favor of gay marriage.
He is doing this for his left wing base.
Obama has no principles.
It's all about getting votes, that's it. It's all BS.

[Say what you want about Bush. At least he stood for what
he believed in. Unlike Obama]

Enforce the law! If you don't like the law, change it.
Obama had two years to change the law, and did nothing.
Surprise, NOT!

I don't care if a man wants to marry his boyfriend.
And a women wants to marry her girlfriend.
I don't care! Just Enforce the Law!
Unlike liberals who never compromise.
Time to get out of the closet, we know who you are.
We do.

Clinton: Too much ethanol could spark food riots

By Mary Clare Jalonick, Associated Press – Fri Feb 25, 2011
WASHINGTON – With global food prices rising and more corn being diverted to the production of ethanol fuel, Bill Clinton is warning of food riots in poor nations.

The former president told farmers and Agriculture Department employees on Thursday that while producing biofuels is important for reducing America’s dependence on foreign oil, farmers should also look beyond domestic production and consider the needs of developing countries.
"I think the best thing to say is we have to become energy independent, but we don’t want to do it at the cost of food riots," Clinton said.
Clinton’s foundation has worked to develop agribusiness in African countries such as Malawi and Rwanda. He said the United States needs to look at the long term, global effects of its farm policy.
