Christopher Buckley Sees the Light on Obama
Daily Beast columnist Christopher Buckley has clearly inherited his late, great father’s razor-sharp wit and gift for eloquence, but his political sensibilities fell considerably farther from the tree—so much so that he voted for Barack Obama, based on personal disappointment with John McCain, animosity towards Sarah Palin, and the certainty that Obama was too smart to actually believe all the left-wing baloney he espoused.
Well, after a year of Hope n’ Change, we all know how that turned out. And it’s been enough to make Buckley redirect his pen in The One’s direction, penning a satirical early draft of this year’s State of the Union Address:
Tonight I can report to you that the state of the union, on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being excellent, is a 9.8.It’s a great piece, skewering everything from Obama’s economic ineptitude, the sleazy healthcare negotiations, politically-correct national security, and more, concluding with a none-too-subtle jab at Obama’s feelings toward the military:
Now, you may ask—and I wouldn’t blame you for asking—how I came up with that number. You might be saying to yourself, “Wait a minute. I’ve got no job, no health insurance. My house isn’t worth half the amount of my mortgage, and I just got called up by the National Guard to do a fifth tour in Afghanistan. How the heck did he come up with 9.8?”
So it’s a good and valid question. And the answer is that 9.8 is pretty good, considering the mess my predecessor and the Republicans left me. Fair enough? I think so.
Now, it is customary on these occasions, after offering the American people bromides and yes, even downright lies about how well the nation is doing, to acknowledge American heroes sitting in the gallery. However, one has to ask: should Obama’s first year really have surprised any of us? (Well, okay, even I wasn’t expecting the guy to give foreign dignitaries DVDs they can’t watch, or lecture local police on the proper execution of their duties.) Obama was breaking campaign promises, playing the race card, lying about his horrendous past, consorting with extreme leftists, and advocating single-payer healthcare well before Election Day (oh, and he chose a running mate more incompetent on his best day than Palin on her worst). I hate to say I told you so…
Unfortunately, no pilots have landed planes in the Hudson River lately, so we don’t have any of them. But there are a number of Dutch artists with us tonight…
The moral of the story: if somebody tells you his platform consists of what amounts to wrecking the economy, instituting an appeasement-based foreign policy, and expanding government control of the private sector, assuming he’s lying just isn’t worth the risk, no matter how bad a taste the other guy leaves you with. Christopher Buckley seems to have learned this lesson. If so, welcome back.
Buckley now says scrap the Hope and Change

But having a first-class temperament and a first-class intellect, President Obama will (I pray, secularly) surely understand that traditional left-politics aren’t going to get us out of this pit we’ve dug for ourselves. If he raises taxes and throws up tariff walls and opens the coffers of the DNC to bribe-money from the special interest groups against whom he has (somewhat disingenuously) railed during the campaign trail, then he will almost certainly reap a whirlwind that will make Katrina look like a balmy summer zephyr. How’s that Hope and Change working out for Buckley? In a rather self-indulgent “Q&A” at The Daily Beast, Buckley now wants an end to the “traditional left-politics” that everyone but Buckley knew was coming: http://hotair.com/archives/2010/03/08/buckley-now-says-scrap-the-hope-and-change/
Christopher Buckley Now Realizes Obama Is A Radical Leftist
Christopher Buckley, son of the late William F. Buckley, made headlines and fast friends at MSNBC when he announced he would be voting for Barack Obama.
Buckley, like NY Times columnist David Brooks is a phony Conservative “intellectual” who thinks he knows more than the rest of us. In reality, he’s a fool who allowed himself to be hoodwinked by a community organizer who gives good speeches.
Any asshat could have merely glanced at his record (a very short record) as a politician both on the state and federal level. Everything Obama supported and voted for was on the far, far, far, far left — out where the buses don’t run.
Everyone he associated himself with from college onward was a radical leftist, Marxist, Socialist, Communist, and/or black militant.
So when Buckley (like David Brookes) were positive he would be a pragmatic, centrist president they must have been suffering from an acid flashback.
Fast forward to today and Buckley is singing a different tune. He’s calling for Obama to scrap ObamaCare and warning about bankrupting the country.
Welcome back, Buckley. Glad you’re finally coming around, but you’re still a phony.

Kliphnote: This guy is full of crap!
If you are against Obama's policy's you are a raciest. BS.
I was against Clinton, (both of them) what does that make me?
Liberals are always playing the race card.
Do Liberals hate Palin because she is a woman? Sexist pigs.

Another Democratic Success Story…
Los Angeles has used $111 million in stimulus cash to create a whopping 55 jobs.
Via LACP.org:
A top Obama campaign worker and a top Pelosi staffer lead a Nazi sign protest in Chicago.
Don’t expect to see this on your nightly news.
Rep. Debbie Halvorson‘s office organizes a protest on September 15, outside an American for Prosperity Event, featuring images of her opponent Adam Kinzinger and other prominent conservative figures including Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin as Nazis.
BIG UPDATE: One of the protesters has been identified. She’s one of Obama’s Organizing for America staffers. They shipped her from Missouri to Chicago for their Hitler rally.
This Halvorson OFA protester gets around.

Here she is working at a Russ Carnahan event in St. Louis, Missouri back in 2009:
She was sneaking Carnahan supporters into the town hall through the handicapped entrance.
