The U.S. Supreme Court Wednesday in a 5-4 vote struck down a key
provision in the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which banned married
same-sex couples from federal benefits, reports CNN:
The American aid worker who was sentenced to two years in an
Egyptian prison earlier this month lashed out at the Obama
administration on Monday for sacrificing him to a tyrannical regime for
the sake of preserving diplomatic relations.
Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R., N.H.) slammed her GOP colleagues who helped
pass the automatic sequestration cuts to the defense budget and warned
that they put the U.S. military at risk of “diminished capacity” during a
speech on grand strategy at the Heritage Foundation on Wednesday.
