Criticism for President Obama's decision to go on ABC's The View Tuesday rather than meet traveling dignitaries in for the United Nations General Assembly came from a peculiar source Monday.
CNN's Wolf Blitzer said of this decision, "There potentially is a
missed opportunity this week for the President of the United States to
meet with some world leaders" (video follows with transcript and
commentary):
In the wake of a rather tragic and tumultuous events regarding American
foreign policy in the Middle East, President Barack Obama plans to
forego the opportunity for a one-on-one meeting with Israeli Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to the UN this week. The
reason is simple. It just could not wait. The president needed to have a
sit down with Barbara Walters and the rest of gals at The View.
Emmy Awards emcee Jimmy Kimmel predictably got political during his opening monologue Sunday.
After receiving scattered applause to his question, "Are any of you
voting for Mitt Romney," the comedian responded, "Alright, there's 40
Republicans and the rest godless liberal homosexuals" (video follows
with transcript):
