North Korea launches rocket amid international condemnation

(Reuters) - North Korea on Friday
launched its controversial rocket carrying a weather satellite, South
Korea's Defence Ministry and U.S. officials said.
North Korea launched its controversial rocket Thursday
night in what officials say now is a ballistic missile test that has
failed. The rocket broke up shortly after take off but the big question
is whether there will be any political fallout from the latest
provocative move by the Stalinist regime.
