NYT: 70% Disapprove Of Direction Of US

April 22nd, 2011
A typically meandering analysis of another meaningless push poll from the New York Times:

Nation’s Mood at Lowest Level in Two Years, Poll Shows

April 21, 2011
Americans are more pessimistic about the nation’s economic outlook and overall direction than they have been at any time since President Obama’s first two months in office, when the country was still officially ensnared in the Great Recession, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

Earth Day Ends Obama's 53,300 Gallon Trip

Air Force One
President Obama declared today's 41st annual Earth Day proof of America's ecological and conservation spirit—then completed a three-day campaign-style trip logging 10,666 miles on Air Force One, eating up some 53,300 gallons at a cost of about $180,000. And that doesn't include the fuel consumption of his helicopter, limo, or the 29 other vehicles that travel with that car.

The Left ‘Protest’ Obama At Fundraisers

April 22nd, 2011
From an unquestioning Agence France-Presse:
Demonstrators protest in front of Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles, California as President Barak Obama attends a major fundraiser for his 2012 campaign.

Disappointed’ supporters greet Obama in California

Fri Apr 22, 2011 LOS ANGELES (AFP) – Hundreds of protesters, mostly Hispanics demanding immigration reform, gathered to vent their disappointment with US President Barack Obama as he visited California. Many of the activists said they were Obama supporters but felt let down by the slow pace of the change he promised in his 2008 White House run… Around 200 protesters waved signs and chanted: "Obama, keep your promise!" outside the Sony Pictures studio in Culver City, west of Los Angeles, where Obama attended a fundraising dinner. "Where’s our change? We need money for housing, not for war! We need money for health care, not for war!" they chanted.

Harry Reid’s high-stakes China gamble

Details are slowly trickling out about Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s secret, week-long trip to China with nine other senators. The lawmakers have given out minimal information about their itinerary because of supposed “security concerns.”
Last checked in, the intrepid congressional delegation (or codel) had paused in Hong Kong over the weekend, likely morphing into a shopping delegation (or shopdel).

Labor Board Tells Boeing Where To Build

April 22nd, 2011
An the editorial from the Washington Examiner:

Federal labor board seeks to ground Boeing

Examiner Editorial 04/21/11
Can federal bureaucrats tell a private company where to build a factory?
Members of President Obama’s National Labor Relations Board think they can. In a decision that even the New York Times is describing as "highly unusual for the federal government," Lafe Solomon, who was appointed to the board by Obama, filed a complaint on behalf of the NLRB on Wednesday seeking to force the Boeing Co. to build an assembly line in Washington state instead of South Carolina.

Dollar's Decline Speeds Up, With Risks for U.S.

The U.S. dollar's downward slide is accelerating as low interest rates, inflation concerns and the massive federal budget deficit undermine the currency.
With no relief in sight for the dollar on any of those fronts, the downward pressure on the dollar is widely expected to continue.
The dollar fell nearly 1% against a broad basket of currencies this week, following a drop of similar size last week. The ICE U.S. Dollar Index closed at its lowest level since August 2008, before the financial crisis intensified.

Obama to investigate the high gas prices he wanted [Reader Post]

Yesterday Barack Obama promised to get to the bottom of the skyrocketing oil price barrel.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — President Barack Obama said Thursday that the Justice Department will try to “root out” cases of fraud or manipulation in oil markets, even as Attorney General Eric Holder suggested a variety of legal reasons may be behind gasoline’s surge to $4 a gallon.

The ‘Hideous, Pathetic Tool’s’ at Wonkette…More Outrage Over Their Attack On Trig

Great video by Steven Crowder about the liberal attacks on Sarah Palin, specifically the recent Wonkette article attacking her son Trig.
The video is good and he brings up some great points but his article is even better where he points out the hypocrisy in our media today, most especially comedians. Where they were once willing and able to make fun of our Presidents, not so much anymore with Obama: Continue reading
