New York ranked second for tax revenue last year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s “2010 Annual Survey of State Government Tax Collections” published Wednesday.
New York took in nearly $64 billion in 2010, the report shows. This included $10.6 billion in general sales tax, $34.8 billion in individual income tax. These two categories make up the bulk of the state’s annual revenue from tax collections.
