Harvard and the Minuteman Project

Harvard group rescinds invite after student uproar

October 16, 2009

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Student protests have prompted a Harvard University group to rescind a speaking invitation to the head of an anti-illegal immigration movement.

Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist had been invited to speak Saturday at a panel hosted by the Harvard Undergraduate Legal Committee.

But in a statement, the committee said Gilchrist's appearance was canceled because it was "not compatible with providing an environment for civil, educational, and productive discourse on immigration."

The Minuteman Project sends armed civilians to patrol the Mexican border for illegal immigrants.

KN: They fail to say "illegal immigrants". **ILLEGAL ** Hello, Anyone home? I did not know the USA was the half way house for all illegals. We should treat them like their home country treats illegals.

They can invite anyone from Iran or any other left wing nuts but not a conservative.

I bet if Hitler were still alive he would be invited.

Remind me not to go to some left wing school. Are they all left wing? OMG!

No wonder we are headed down the path we are.
