Pandering part 2

Just who's side are they on, when it comes to free trade with our ally Colombia?

John McCain is the only presidential candidate in favor of a free
trade agreement with Colombia.
They are a Democracy in a fight against international narco-terrorism.
Most of what we import from Colombia is tariff free. Now we want our exports
to Colombia to be tariff free. This would benefit our farmers and others.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton proclaimed at a meeting of the
Communications Workers of America union
"As I have said for months, I oppose the deal.
I have spoken out against the deal, I will vote against the deal, and I will do
everything I can to urge the Congress to reject the Colombia Free
Trade Agreement."

Sen. Barack Obama said at the same Pennsylvania AFL-CIO annual convention.
He would oppose the Colombia Free Trade Agreement
"because the violence against unions in Colombia would make a mockery
of the very labor protections that we have insisted be included in these kinds of
agreements."

"Human Rights Watch has been monitoring the human rights situation in
Colombia for nearly two decades. Through our reports we have
repeatedly documented abuses committed by Colombian government forces,
left-wing guerrillas of the
Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (the "FARC") and the National
Liberation Army (the "ELN"), and right-wing paramilitary groups."

But Colombia is a Democracy trying to fight against those that are
against unions. And fighting against FARC and ELN and others.
How is our politicians stopping the free trade agreement going to help them?
Unions are against ALL free trade agreements? So this concern about
deaths of union members in Colombia is a ruse, is just another excuse.

Colombian President Alvaro Uribe sharply criticized U.S. presidential
contender Barack Obama for opposing a trade deal with his country,
calling the Democrat out of touch with the realities of the South American
nation. Barack Obama said he would favor holding direct talks with Iran and
Syria and Cuba and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez .
BUT he won't talk with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe.

Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided to bar a vote on the
Colombia Free Trade Agreement.
She won't even allow an up or down vote.

Remember Colombia is our ally.

Why is that? Because Obama and Clinton (Pelosi and the Democrats) are
pandering to the unions. They want their money and their vote. The
Democrats get more money and votes from unions than from farmers.
